Greetings friends!
We are happy to say we just finished our third European tour together. This time, we traveled for one month to nine different countries. We also had the privilege of attending the 2016 Remain Loyal to Jehovah Special Convention in Helsinki, Finland. It was such an amazing experience and we cannot wait to share all of the details with you! Our first stop on our European tour was Dublin, Ireland. This time, we had 4 new European travel buddies who kept us laughing the entire time: Luis, Loraine, NaLene and Tracie. You might recognize Luis and Loraine from our Celebrity Cruise in 2015. Together, we visited Dublin, London, Milan and Sion. We then met up with some old friends in Sion, Switzerland and had the opportunity to participate in the field ministry while we were there. For the second half of our trip, our friends proceeded on to Italy. Tj and I headed to Helsinki where we met up with 4 more friends from Chicago: Seth, Nadia, Kenny and Maureen. We had an amazing week of activity with all of the brothers and sisters from Helsinki along with all of our fellow delegates. Our week included field service, a tour of Bethel, a visit to Suomenlinna Island and a Wilderness Tour with a special sauna experience. The week ended with 3 days of spiritual bliss at the Special Convention. We laughed, cried, exchanged gifts and cried some more. We definitely created memories that will never be forgotten. After Helsinki, Tj and I boarded the St. Peters Line cruise ship and headed for St. Petersburg, Russia. Because we hadn’t purchased a visa, we only had 72 hours in the country so we decided to make the most of it. We visited Bethel, attended the mid-week meeting and saw some of St. Petersburg’s most beautiful venues. Our next location on the itinerary was Austria where we met up with some of our repeat travel buddies: Kevin, Kristen, Humberto and Andrea. We spent our time in Zell am See, a cozy little town surrounding a breathtaking view of the lake and mountains. After spending three summers together, we had no problem making memories. Our last location with our friends was Munich, Germany. We only spent a day while waiting for our flights but once again, we made the most of it. To end our European tour, Tj and I had one final stop: Copenhagen, Denmark. This city by far exceeded my expectations! The feeling was very relaxed, carefree and the food was phenomenal. As always, I will do my best in each post to include as many details as possible when it comes to rooming and transportation for any of you who are interested in visiting these countries. Also, be sure to leave us a comment or send us a message if there is anything specific you would like us to address in our posts. So sit back and relax: this is Europe, Part Three!
